The Conventions of Thrillers
The thriller genre came about in the 1960s when Alfred Hitchcock revolutionized film making and created the film Psycho. This was the turning point in the industry and many more classic came about following this shaping this new genre further. Over the years as the thriller film genre has progressed and grown it has developed itself in order to create a truly diverse style of film making in the present day. There are many conventions that are now thought to be typical of a thriller film. Using the film Psycho as case study I will look into these conventions.
